PECAN PIE



Classic American and Canadian, Walnut and Walnut Pie! Easy to prepare, we serve it here with simple yet effective homemade pastries and a soft caramel-colored filling. Some people put a tablespoon of whiskey in the mix, so if you're a fan, don't hesitate! If your pie swells while baking, don't worry, it will fall off as it cools and will look great.


* Ingredients list :

°Homemade shortbread
°200 g flour
°100 gm cold butter
°1/2 tsp. Teaspoon salt
°1 c. brown sugar or sugar
°40 ml of water
to decorate
°3 eggs
°200 gm pecans and mixed nuts
°175g of sugar and brown sugar (eg 100g of brown sugar and 75g of sugar)
°35 grams butter
°1 c. tablespoons of maizena
°1 c. 1 tsp of vanilla extract or 2 sachet vanilla sugar
°1 L tsp. 1 tablespoon glucose, honey or maple syrup

* Recipe steps :

Preparing short pastry: mix flour, salt and sugar
Adding cold butter cutting to pieces also kneading with your fingertips
Rub the flour between your hands so that the butter melts well
Add cold water and mix it with your hand to get a ball
Put it in the fridge for 30 minutes before rolling it out
Make the filling by whisking eggs and sugar
Then add glucose, melted butter, and vanilla
Finally, add the mezzina
Arrange the walnuts in the pie crust
Cover and bake at 175°C (160°C hot air) for 45 minutes.
Permit it to cool about at least two h before taste.
