Here's What Happens if You Burn a Bay Leaf

Baking soda is used for its many properties in making home cleaning products, and it has been appearing in cosmetic recipes for a few years as well. Facial masks, scrubs, are also used for a hair beauty routine. But why and how do we use it? You will find everything in this article!

1. Bicarbonate is a natural disinfectant
If it is used a lot in the manufacture of household products, it is because bicarbonate is, first and foremost, a great, economical and environmental cleaning agent. Fortunately, its gentle abrasive side doesn't just clean your bathroom. It will also work wonders on your hair! Pollution, dust, residue, excess fat or lime, nothing can resist it.

You can mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda with your usual shampoo. If you do, know that you will need to alternate this shampoo with another one, as it is used long term or in very large quantities, baking soda can dry out the scalp. This is normal, because it absorbs the bad particles, if you put too much of it it will eventually absorb the good ones.

Likewise, if your hair is dry, brittle, or frizzy, baking soda is not suitable for it because it is already thirsty. Drying out the bicarbonate, no matter how slight, can damage it even more!

2. Make shampoo
You can also make baking soda shampoo yourself. There are many recipes out there, but if you're looking for simplicity, here's what to do:

In a bowl or water bottle, put 1 part baking soda with 3 parts water;
pour the resulting paste on your hair;
gently massage the scalp, without rubbing too much, as well as your limbs;
Leave it for 3 minutes;
Then rinse it well with clean water.
This homemade shampoo does not lather, which is natural as it does not contain any sulfates. Use it once a week, not more.

You can also choose to apply pure baking soda to your roots if they are recovering very quickly. Then comb your hair to remove the residue.
