I love this recipe! I ate this cake all my childhood as my grandmother made it. It's so moist and rich you can never go wrong. Prepare to dazzle yourself.
excellent! I got my mom's recipe but she lost it. He called for a miracle whip though. (The salad dressing I used). So glad I found this. Just like 50 years ago. Thanks!
* Ingredients :
° 3 cups allpurpose flour
° 1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
° 1 cup sugar
° Half a cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
° 1 1/2 cups water
° 2 teaspoons baking powder
° 1 teaspoon baking soda
° 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Frosting (store-bought or homemade)
* Prepare :
Heat oven 350 degres F . Coat 9-inch round baking pans with cooking spray. Sit aside.
Mix the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda together in a bowl. Adding mayonnaise // mix to mixed .
Add the water and vanilla extract and blend until the mixture is smooth. Pour the mixture evenly into the prepared baking trays.
Bake for 30-40 minutes or until a cake tester inserted in the middle of each cake comes out clean.
Cool completely. One cake is placed in the bottom of the serving tray. Add a layer of garnish as filling. Place the second cake on top and cover with the remaining frosting.
